The Offene Kommunen.NRW conference is organised by the Offene Kommunen.NRW Institut e.V.. Over the years, the civic commitment to the further development of the participatory budgeting model has led to a broader interest in open government in municipalities and in the exchange with active members in other cities and municipalities.

Conference format

The conference Offene Kommunen.NRW takes place in the so-called BarCamp format. This is characterised by the fact that there is no predetermined programme. You decide which topics will be discussed at the OKNRW conference during the session planning in the morning of the BarCamp. The individual sessions last 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break. The sessions take place every hour.

The conference takes place at the Bergische Volkshochschule in Wuppertal-Elberfeld.
